Fieldsports Photo-Shoot – Scottish Borders
Fieldsports Photo-Shoot by Simon Mark Whitten, Firehorse Photography.
The weather forecast said wet and right on cue, 9am, it began to rain. And it rained and it rained and it rained. Four drives became three with lunch being skipped for an early finish.
It was only during the last 10 minutes it finally gave up and as I drove back over the beautiful hills back to Yorkshire, the sun came out and the scenery looked stunning.
I was almost tempted to stop and shoot some landscapes to add to the day’s shooting results, but then decided, no, it was what it was, a wet day and no bad thing.
So the results came out far better than expected. I’ve worked in the rain before of course, 500+ assignments over the last 13+ years means that’s going to be inevitable, but never a fieldsports photo-shoot that rained from start to pretty much finish.
Possibly surprisingly, it added something to the results, – the slashing slanting rain, so in the end, more than pleased.
A couple of other recent fieldsports photo-shoots can be viewed by clicking on either of the links below and we’re always interested in new commissions whether in our home county of Yorkshire, or anywhere throughout the UK or beyond.
