The Star Inn Harome Photography – Kitchen Photography at The Star Inn, Harome
The Star Inn Harome Photography by Simon Mark Whitten, Firehorse Photography.
I spend a lot of time photographing in kitchens, partly because it’s a passion of mine photographing chefs at work and food, but also because I am a frustrated chef myself!
If I was not a food photographer or any kind of photographer, I’d almost certainly be a chef.
Why? Well we have a lot in common. We both have access to the same tools and same ingredients. In regard to chefs, it’s kitchen equipment and food in it’s raw state. For us photographers it’s camera equipment and the subject we choose to photograph. Both essentially take a ‘raw ingredient’ that the man (or woman) in the street has more or less the same access to, but it’s the skill of the user rather than the equipment/ingredients that produces the results.
I’m passionate about food photography so whether it’s a restaurant, a book project or a chef profile, please do make contact!
The other scenario where I spend a lot of time in kitchens is at weddings and you can see my extensive portfolio in this regard here.
